Oregon Coast In January

It was an amazing January day on the Oregon coast, unseasonably warm with an offshore wind creating wonderful spindrifts on the waves. I captured some of these wave events at Yahacts and just south of Depoe Bay. While visiting Boiler Bay, named for the steam boiler from the shipwreck J. Marhoffer lost in the region in 1910, I was pleasantly surprised to find the tide low enough that I could hike out to photograph the boiler. Some years ago I authored an article on the history of the shipwreck for Oregon Coast magazine.

This is cool. Always loved going for trips along the coast and stopping here was a favorite.
With a name like Shipwreck Bob, you should come see our shipwreck chart! :)
